Information on being a High School level official for CSRA

Being a member in good standing is the starting point. Register online at CSRA Registration

Cost of CSRA membership for adults is $30 per calendar year. Youth officials (under 18) are free.

Washington Officials Association (WOA) charges $60 (adults) & $40 (youth under 19) for both the fall & spring seasons. This money goes to the state office for administration of their programs, clinics, play-offs, etc. If you do less than five (5) matches – no WOA fee will be required.

Both fees will be deducted from your pay – no up front cost for the official.

New officials need to submit a brief history from the past 12 months of games that you have been assigned as a Referee or an Assistant Referee.

  • Number of games as a Referee and Assistant Referee
  • Highest age level of game as a Referee and Assistant Referee
  • Your comfort level as an Referee and Assistant Referee
  • Are you currently a certified USSF or NISOA official?

Include the name & contact information of your assignor(s) and if you have a mentor – their name and contact info also. Send the above information to woa@csraref.org

Expectations of officials:

Act professional – you are being well paid and the schools expect a professional appearance
Arrive at the field 30 minutes before the match (if you know that you will be late – notify your crew)
Most matches start at 4 PM - therefore you must be available to be at the school @ 3:30 PM
Look sharp from the time you leave your vehicle
3 white stripe black referee socks that stay up
Polished boots (predominately black)
Shorts that are designed for referees – not player’s shorts
At the very least for JV matches – Gold and Red jerseys
Officials that are primarily assigned to varsity matches should own all eight USSF style jerseys
Plan on attending the CSRA monthly meetings during the season
The WOA Online Clinic is mandatory for varsity level assignments
